Week of 5/18 and 5/25

Student Commons

At the student commons the past two weeks we have continued to install the windows and have finished the majority of the sheetrock and taping of the walls. We have graded the front of the building and have started forming up the exterior flatwork and stairs. Our tile subcontracter has prepped the floor in the kitchen and will tile it next week. The stucco is being prepped and will continue next week. Also we have set the main trees out front of the building. The main standing seam metal roof was delivered and has started to be installed.






Fine Arts

Work at the fine arts is moving along. The past couple of weeks have seen the bathrooms tiled and all of the exterior door frames have been installed and the doors will be installed next week. The siding had some kinks to work out which have now been resolved and is continuing. The canopy framing is in and the steel was erected today. The interior topping slabs have been poured in the ceramics and digital media rooms. Both buildings radiant systems are now installed. Most of the interior millwork and cabinets have been delivered and are being installed. The ceilings will start next week. All of the windows are now installed and sealed. Most of the interior door frames are onsite and installed. The rest will be installed next week.

Week of 5/11

Student Commons

This past week we have finished up most of the drywall and started taping in the kitchen. The window installation is progressing and will be mostly done by the end of this week. The exterior soffit is finished and looks great. The roofing is on order and should be installed in a week or so. The front of the jobsite has been rough graded and we are now digging in the landscape wiring and site lighting. This will be followed by the starting of the front entry concrete work. Also the electricians have pulled the wire for the switchgear and should be able to get it energized this week. The framers have finished framing the final wall of the building and the plumbers have installed their water heaters.

Fine Arts Buildings

At the fine arts this week we have continued the siding, finishing up the windows and Nanawall door. We have installed the radiant tubing in both buildings and should be laying the floor in both buildings in the next week. Also we have set the water heaters in the mechanical room and will be setting the exterior louvers and boiler this coming week. We are proceeding with the front canopies and should be installing them this week as well.

Week of 5/4

Student Commons

At the student commons we are doing a lot of waterproofing, installing windows, cleaning up the trusses and installing the final parts of the mechanical system. Also we have finished the insulation and started the drywall. The framers have almost completed the wood soffit around the underside of the eaves of the building. The electricians are preparing to have PG&E "hot up" our transformer next week. The earthwork contractor is back and has started to clean up the front of the site in preparation for getting all of the concrete done in front of the building.




Fine Arts

At the fine arts we are continuing with the siding and window installation. We should finish up the windows next week and the siding should continue as well and finish up at the ceramics building. The mechaincal room floor has been finished so we can set all of our equipment and we have prepared the floors to run the radiant tubing at both buildings next week.
