Week of 3/23

Student Commons

At the student commons the framers finished up most of the upper roof framing and plywood. They are now waiting on the steel sub to install their upper steel and overhangs which will happen on Monday. The framer will then finish up his framing. The plumbers, electricians, and fire sprinkler subs are finished in the lower areas and awaiting the upper roof to be complete. The ductwork is continuing and he has begun to hang his exhaust fans and will set the remainder of his equipment next week. Towards the end of next week we are looking at insulating the lower roofs.

Fine Arts Buildings

At the Fine Arts this week we have finished up and test all of the MEP's in preparation for insulation. We also installed the metal door frames on the exterior and have placed the insulation in the crawl space. Next week we will insulating both buildings starting to prepare the outside of the building for siding and running the ductwork.

Week of 3/16

Student Commons

At the student commons this week we are over half way done with the roof framing and will continue and finish most of it this coming week. Also we have started and are over halfway done with the mechanical ductwork in the kitchen and bathroom wings. Most of the MEP rough-in is complete and we will be having our inspections this week. Additionally we formed up and poured the back walkway, transformer pad and trash enclosure pad. This coming week we will be finishing up all the loose ends in the wings of the buildings in preparation for insulation and closing the walls as well as erecting the overhang steel for the front of the building.

Fine Arts

At the fine arts we placed the underlayment for the roofing on the Music building and protected the floor so that the electrical and fire sprinkler subs could finish their rough-in. In the ceramics building the MEP's are finishing up in preparation for inspections, while the framer is finishing up their remaining soffit work. We also poured the front footings for the canopies, the kiln floor as well as the mechanical and electrical room floors. Next week we will be finishing up all the loose ends and have our inspections before we insulate the ceilings and walls.
