Week of 2/23

Student Commons

At the student commons this week we continued with the Truss construction as well as doing a lot of pick up framing workin including finishing all the plywood around the exterior of the building. Additionally we continued with our MEP rough-in which includes our plumbing, electrical, fire sprinkler and hydronic piping. This includes work both the north and south wings of the building. Next week we will continue with the truss framing and begin the bridging between the individual trusses. Also we will try to roof the lower roofs if we have dry weather. The MEP's will continue which will include the mechanical ductwork. As soon as there is a little dry weather we hope to grade and pave the back parking lot.





Fine Arts Buildings

At the fine arts buildings this week we continued the rafters and plywood sheathing at the Music room as well as additional pick up framing. We started the underfloor fire sprinkler at the ceramics building. Next week we hope to get the roof onto the ceramics building as well as continue the MEP rough-in. We tarped the cermaics roof to help keep the crawlspace as dry as possible to help the installation next week.

Week of 2/16

Student Commons

At the Student Commons we have finished the low roof framing and have started all the electrical, plumbing and fire sprinkler work in the two wings of the building. The trusses are coming along we have two installed and by the end of next week we have to have another two or three installed. As soon as we have some dry weather for an extended amount of time we will roof the two lower sections. Next week we will continue with the truss construction and MEP rough-in.

Fine Arts Buildings

At the Ceramics buildins we have finished the plywood and roof framing and are doing final pickup framing work. At the Music building we have finshed all of the perimeter wall framing and have hoisted the two main ridge beams. Next week we will start on the MEP rough-in at the ceramics and finish the roofing and interior wall framing at the music building.

Week of 2/9

Student Commons

At the student commons we are continuing the truss construction and have finished the sheeting of the low roofs. This allows for the MEP's to start in the kitchen and bathrooms with their rough-in. We have started the fire sprinkler and plumbing and next week we will begin the hydronics and layout for the electrical and mechanical. We have also strung a tarp across the upper roof to provide a little protection for the truss construction. Also we have finished sheeting the northern exterior wall as seen in the pictures below. Next week we will also prepare for the low roof membranes to be installed shortly there after.




Fine Arts Buildings

At the Fine Arts this week we finished up the Ceramics buildings roofing framing and will plywood the roof next week. At the Music Building we have finished over half of the walls and should stand the rest of them on Tuesday after the holiday. We also finished up the plywood at the ceramics building exterior. Next week we will start getting the in wall rough in started at the ceramics building as well as finish up the underfloor MEP trades.

Week of 2/2 - Winter Has arrived

Student Commons

At the student commons this week we continued the framing and finished the plywood on the roof of the kitchen and offices. We have started the ceiling on the bathroom side and have laid out to start the roof truss construction. The plumbers places their toilet carriers in the bathrooms as well. However we were halted the past two days due to rain. We also finished the tie-in for the domestic water and fire water lines. Finally we did some final gas pipework to be prepared to set the gas meter.

Fine Arts Buildings

At the Fine Arts Buildings we finished framing the majority of the walls at the ceramics building and will be standing up the walls for the music room next week. We also lost the last two days to rain here as well. Next week we will start the roof framing at the ceramics building.
