Weeks of 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1

Student Commons

Many apologies for the lack of postings recently. So a lot has been going on over the past month. Since I last left off we had just poured our Slab-On-Grade and hit a major milestone. Since then we have formed up the perimeter walls and poured them as well. We have also erected the structural steel frame. We are currently forming up the final retaining wall along the western side of the site and the two wings walls at the front of the building. We have also finished up with the perimeter storm drainage system and all of the underground MEP work in the back parking lot. We have crossed the 71 Fernhill Ave driveway with our storm drain and are currently awaiting final signoff by MMWD to be able to do the final connections for the fire water system. So a lot has been going on. Next week we will be waterproofing the retaining wall and hopefully backfilling behind it. We will also be installing the rebar on the remaining concrete walls and finishing up the formwork. The primary transformer was also set and wired up.

Fine Arts Buildings

A lot has also been going on at the Fine Arts Buildings. We poured the footings at my last post. Since then we have finished most of the underground MEP work including the electrical, gas, and water. We formed up and poured all of the retaining walls and have since stripped them. We also waterproofed and poured the rat slab in the crawlspace of the music building. The raingarden is about 90% complete and will be finished next week. Also next week we will be waterproofing and backfilling the retaining walls and also bringing in the sanitary sewer connection. Framing will start next week as well.

Week of 11/3 - Concrete Foundations!!

Student Commons

This week was a busy week out here at Branson. We did all of the finishing touches for all the subslab work and poured the foundation and Slab-On-Grade on Thursday 11/6/08. We also dug in the new gas line and are putting in some of the final site drainage. Next week we will begin the forming of the concrete walls and possibly standing up a couple of the steel columns. We also as most of you know are starting to see some rain. We have protected the site with hay waddles, visqueen and sandbags. This will hopefully keep the amount of rain water we do receive away from the work areas as best as possible.

Fine Arts Buildings

Last Friday was a Big Day at the Fine Arts. We poured all of the footings for the two new buildings. This was really important as it rained all weekend and we would of had a muddy mess come Monday. We also got our electrical stubbed between the buildings and are ready to start forming the walls next week.
